1999 - 2004 Grand Cherokees were sold with 2 available sound system options, Premium and Standard.  The premium sound
system came with a separate amplifier located under the rear passengers seat.  Speaker prices for both sound systems are

If your vehicle does not
have a separate
amplifier under the rear
passengers seat, your
vehicle has the standard
sound system.  To verify,
simply lift the rear seat
forward and the amplifier
should be in plain sight.
Premium Sound System
If your vehicle has a rear
passengers seat, your
vehicle has the premium
sound system.  To verify,
simply lift the rear seat
